We are very pleased you have chosen to stay in our Historic house located near Ohaeawai, Bay of Islands. The Bay of Islands is known as the birthplace of the nation and is a very historic area.
If you are enjoying what we have to offer and wish to help us preserve and conserve our environment you might like to consider helping us.
We always endeavour to turn off lights or equipment when not needed.
We turn off taps when we are not directly using water.
We always try to reduce waste. We practise recycling nd composting so if you place your waste in the bins provided, we will deal with it appropriately.
We buy and support local suppliers which supports our Community and reduces the distance our goods must travel to reach us. You will benefit from fresh local produce in our breakfasts and dinners. We also grow and harvest some of our own fruit and vegetables.
We donate prize vouchers to our local Pastoral and Industrial Show (a major annual attraction, and the oldest Pastoral and Agricultural Show in New Zealand) and to a local fun run called the Okaihau Kaikohe Traverse. We have given our time to establish a Community Beautification Strategy for the Ohaeawai community. You may have other suggestions.
We are pleased to conserve energy and water for washing. If you would like to reuse your towel please place them on the towel rail, or place them in the bath and we will replace them.
